Welsh Love Spoons

February 25, 2010

We originally scored this Welsh Love Spoons screen print when we were up in Santa Rosa for my friends, Eric & Annmarie’s wedding. We love going out to Healdsburg whenever we are up there and going out to the giant Salvation Army barn and checking out the unique furniture, various vintage appliances, old frames, and Marta could spend hours going through the clothes. This was one of our favorite finds from that trip and we finally got around to giving it a place in our home.

The caption reads: “These spoons were carved by youths in Wales and given as love-tokens.”

Valentine’s Day – 143

143

I know Valentine’s Day was more than a few days ago, but a late post is better than no post at all right? We’ve never been the couple to go all out for this hallmark holiday, but we do like to have fun with it. So, I didn’t get Marta anything from Kay Jewelers, but I did go to quite some effort to get ahold of some vintage type. I found a collection of numbers from a store on etsy, Salvage Nation. She was also kind enough to throw in an old theatre seating number with the same numbers, which for those of you who don’t know/remember, 143 is pager code for I LOVE YOU.

Liam’s first V-day

We spent the day with our new little guy and went over to our friends the O’Malleys for pizza and some Olympics!

the evolution of a youth group logo.

June 26, 2009

I’ve been working with one of my sister’s friends from her college on a logo for his youth group. It’s an interesting project for me having grown up in youth group and knowing the ins and outs of the whole operation. I know that the goal is to get kids psyched about Jesus…and that usually includes all nighters in school gymnasiums with mountains of pizza, a bazillion liters of soda, and obviously bounce houses! I’m pretty sure I nailed it…
